Today, I received a call that broke my heart. One of our Yorkie's, Molly had passed away.
She was a very special Yorkie, very intelligent and extremely Loving. Two days ago Molly, Scooter and Bella (her sister) attacked a Copperhead snake that had come onto our patio and had posed a threat to my wife. I don't know all the details but from what I have been told if the three dogs had not gone after the snake it would have bitten my wife. To a healthy adult a Copperhead bite is not usually lethal but my wife is not healthy and it probably would have killed her.
Molly apparently was out front of the snake providing distraction so Scooter could get it and kill it. Scooter is much larger than Molly and more able to kill it. Molly took at least one bite to the face. Scooter did kill it but he was bit too. Scooter is still at the Vet at this time and very sick so, please pray for him.
Do dogs go to heaven? Before today I would have said I don't know, but after today I believe emphatically YES.
While I was crying, I heard her "happy" bark and in my mind I saw her running in the fields of the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Was it my imagination? Could have been, but I have had many visions over the years that have changed my life and this was just like those, God does still speak in visions, dreams and that still small voice and I believe this was a vision to grant me peace.
Molly is a true Hero she sacrificed her life for the one she loved.
Jesus said " Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Joh_15:13
Molly lived it.
Update 6:45 pm 8/23/13
Scooter is recovering and has come home today. He was bit several times also, but we expect a full recovery.
Thank-you for your prayers.

A Memorial to our sweet friend Missy Auger

Missy Auger, Born 1999, Died Sept 23 2013
For those of us who love our pets you will surely understand why we brag on Missy.
As cats go she was very unusual in that even as a kitten she never got into anything she wasn't supposed to get into. Marilie even tempted her by putting some fish into the trash and Missy just ignored it.
She had a very sweet disposition and seldom ever got her nose out of joint. We humans could have learned a lot about love and being loved by this sweet little lady.
She was a true joy and will be sorely missed.
