We discuss at length how we are to behave toward one another for fulfilment in our relations with each other, but, how much time do we devote to building relationship with our Lord and God.
Take a look at this chart. It does describe not just the fundamentals of relationship with your spouse but the fundamentals of relationship with God.
Most of us never seem to get beyond the "Primary Level".
Sure we are willing to have a relationship with him, after all we made a confession and we go to church. Yes we respect Him and try to obey his will as best we can understand it, and we try to trust Him in all things. But sadly thats as far as most of us are willing to go. We don't understand why our euporea begins to dip and yaw. We must grow in the relationship or it will diminish.
In the "Secondary Level" we begin caring about what God cares about. We begin to communicate with Him through prayer and meditation. And we begin to sense His presence and see how we are His friend.
As our relationship with our Lord grows to the "Third Level", we begin to develop intimacy with Him and start to partner with Him and truly Love Him. Before Long we realize we have become interdependent.
To be interdependent means that our very existence and all we experience, our perspectives and perceptions are His and they are ours, we are two become one. Separate but together, like in marriage. But all this is possible only if you take the time to consciously develop it.
A relationship with another human being is much easier because of their physical presence that we can experience with our five senses. Thats why we need to develop our sixth sense thru prayer and meditation and why God has provided the Holy Spirit to guide us into relationship with Him. It is possible to experience God's presence and it is truly wonderful, way beyond words . Again it takes time and effort to develop just like developing a relationship with your spouse, so:
Mat_6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
