Pro 11:25 The soul who gives freely shall be made fat; and he who waters shall also be watered himself.(MKJV)
I find it somewhat amazing that it is so hard for us humans to get some of the most simple concepts that God teaches. We blame something we call human nature, yet our human nature God created and since God makes no mistakes, human nature fails to be a viable excuses. No friends it is not “human nature”, its our sin nature that we inherited from Adam.
No place is this more apparent than in the ream of finances.
The proverb above is teaching us a human nature and a law of Gods.
“What are you saying, NO way”is this Human Nature!, you say
I say, “Yes',Human Nature”. Why is that so hard to believe? If someone is generous with you don't you want to repay that generosity with generosity of your own, at least at first but then comes that moment when the “sin nature” steps up and says, “well I am grateful he was generous with me but....”, you finish the sentence with one of your excuses. Okay, do you see my point now. It is human Nature to be generous.
What God has been trying to teach us since the fall is that what God has available to us if we follow His simple rules is what every single human being on this planet wants but can not seem to archive and that is simply peace with both himself and others. If all people were generous who would go without the basics? If monetary lust (greed) where to suddenly disappear who would you blame for your lack of success. And if we respected our parents who would there be left to blame for our lack of character. And, oh my, what would this world be like if sexual lust came to an end, divorce rate would plummet and married people would learn to love each other.
God has given us a very practical method to bring utopia to this world today. That method is called the Ten Commandments.
The book that this website features was written by me at Gods command and interestingly enough I have to read it every so often to put those practices to work as I do get a bit spiritually lazy now and again. That's my sin nature poking its head up just to say hi, as I am sure yours does from time to time. Our sin nature was crucified on the cross but we must cooperate with the Holy Spirit if we are to live in the Christ nature which does take practice as well as the Holy Spirits help.
Jesus summed up the Ten Commandments this way:
Mat 22:37 Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
And later he added a new commandment :
Joh 13:34 I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another.
