The Lord has dealt with me in so many areas this past month I just don't know where to start.
The one theme that keeps coming back to me over and over again is how hard it is for us human beings to believe and trust in God because we do not talk to Him in the ordinary sense as we talk to our fellow creatures. In other words I rely on my 5 senses far more naturally than I rely on God.
But that is so backwards.
What God has impressed on me is how we take for granted so many things in our world that if we would just think, we would begin to see that the natural really is supernatural. Take for instance a tree. Here is a truly marvelous structure that starts from a tiny bit of organized matter (the seed) that collects invisible nutrients ( minerals, water and nitrogen), that appears not to exhaust the source of those nutrients (the ground, the air and water) and possess life, (it can die). We can explain it's life cycle but to the best of my knowledge no human has ever been able to create, to order and organize, the matter that is a seed that can grow and possess life. What we accept as a tree is really a miracle but because it exists within our 5 senses to experience we think of it as natural and thereby nothing special, yet with just a little thought we can see God's hand in this magnificent creation. So much life all around us that speaks of God's marvelous power, grace and Love. Proof positive that God works in this world yet we still seem to be unable to trust Him.
I am reminded of this verse:
Mat 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Jesus was so right, our faith is indeed so little.
What do you think?
