Hi all, been a bit pissed off in recent times and need to make amends to the best of my ability.
What has pissed me off is this worldly attitude that has entered the church from those who have attempted to under mine God and scare the unconverted away. It is dumb and ungodly to think even for one second believers are to be poor.
Take for example Gods first chosen man after the flood, Abraham.
Abraham and his nephew Lot were extremely rich by today's standards. They were the Donald Trumps of their day! Yet Abraham was chosen by God to be the Father of Faith and many nations including Israel.
The Judges were all men of wealth.
King David was very rich. Solomon, Davids son, was the richest man on the planet and became that way because God honored Solomon's request for wisdom. (2nd Chronicles 1:7 through 17).
Satan is so skillful in deceiving the elect.
Satan is still quoting our own scriptures, like he did to Jesus, and quoting just enough that we believe his interpretation which is dead wrong. For example, “Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor : for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” This is the way many seem to hear this passage yet that is not what it says. It says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” So what does that mean? If you take a minute to look up the Greek words and their meaning, you quickly understand this passage to mean; “Happy are those who can not get enough of Gods Spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Gods”. The passage has nothing to do with worldly wealth!!
Some one is going to say, "well, yeah but, what about the rich young ruler that Jesus told he must sell all he owns then come and follow Him, (Matthew 19:16 through 30). Go read the story again. Pay attention to the details. The context is the Ten Commandments, the subject is righteousness before God. Remember Jesus had not yet brought mercy and forgiveness to the Law, a person had to keep all of the Law perfectly to be saved. The point was simple, many rich people, this young man included, have put the acquisition of wealth and power ahead of God. Hence they are in violation of the First Commandment, “ Though shall have no other Gods before me”, Exodus 20:3.
Consider when Jesus sent the disciples out without any worldly possessions, Luke 10:1 - 12. What was he doing? Was He setting a first for all teachers of the word, that they should be poor? I think not! No, what Jesus was showing was that the disciples had to see God as their source and that that their needs came through doing His will.
In all that Jesus taught, He never once said being poor was a good thing. What he did say was reliance on worldly wealth and not God, was a bad thing.
Something I want you to consider, the poor and lower middle class of this world will do almost anything, (except work) to gain worldly riches. They will gamble, steal, lie, break the law, sell drugs, pimp, enslave women, dishonor their parents and, cheat their neighbors to get worldly wealth. This type of behavior is totally against everything Jesus wants for us, yet most people believe that to be a Godly person one must give up wealth and be poor. Their is even resentment towards those who teach the word of God who have gained some personal wealth as a result. Did not Jesus say, “...for the laborer is worthy of his hire”, so who are you to judge!
God is filthy stinking rich!:
Psa 50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
Psa 50:11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
Psa 50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fullness thereof.
God is our Father:
Gal_4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
And:
Mat 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Mat 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
So in conclusion, please quit thinking being wealthy and especially being wealthy for teaching the word is wrong, it is not!
You do not think authors who write novels shouldn't make money from their books! Yet it seems you all think those who write about Gods word and His will should give away their work , such hypocrisy is what I am angry about! I must apologize to you all though, because I too have been guilty of such thoughts and beliefs.
That being said, please consider making a contribution or better yet purchase one or more of my books. You can download two of them here for free. I ask for a donation only if they help you in your walk with Jesus. My third book “Yahweh The God who Speaks and How to Hear Him”, can be purchased here.
