"The Ten Commandments A Guide to Holiness" is a book I wrote about Gods Law and how Christians should think about it.
Gods Law, though no longer the way unto righteousness, it is still relevant to Gods people.
All Kingdoms have Laws, it's necessary for harmonious co-existence.
Gods Kingdom is no different.
The Ten Commandments are Gods Kingdom's Law which Jesus summed up in Matthew 22:36-40 as Love God and your neighbor as yourself, but what, in practical terms does that look like? That is the question I have attempted to answer in this book.
Of necessity and for greater understanding, I have also written this book about the major Covenants or Promises of God. I have also included chapters on Faith, Grace and Salvation.
Each chapter is packed with scriptural references, definitions of relevant words. And, the Greek or Hebrew definition from "Strong's Hebrew and Greek dictionary". I have also tried to include my own perspective from my life.
I suggest in my book using the Commandments as a way to inventor our daily walk. It is my experience and scriptural to say that after the salvation experience Christians do still sin. We are prone to give in to our carnal nature. That said, if we repent and ask forgiveness, God is quick to forgive and strengthen us to to resist that sin, 1 John_1:9 . The inventory helps us to root out problem areas and those little sins we often forget and allow to accumulate.
The workbook is written in more of a devotional style and is meant to compliment the book.
I have spent many hours in meditative prayer and research to write these books and it has helped me a great deal to be a better Christian, it's my hope it will do the same for you.
Your not going to get any fancy new doctrine in my book, it's not about that. Plus, as a truck driver I am not qualified to establish doctrine, on second thought maybe I am, Peter was a fisherman and Paul was a tent maker.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I am just an ordinary guy, I don't have a degree in the Bible or philosophy, in fact, I am a truck driver, and a Christian.
I was saved many years ago at a Church camp in the mountains behind Los Angeles, California, I think I was eight or nine at the time.
After the initial pink cloud of the conversion experience, my walk with the Lord resembled the history of the Jewish Nation, drawing near and then rebelling, repenting, drawing near and then rebeling again.
Now in my fifties I think I have finally come to walk with the Lord for the rest of my life and hope and pray that I will be able to touch many lives for my Lord thru my writing.
Yours in Christ
